Description
Photograph of a view of Stoner Avenue looking south from Santa Monica Boulevard in the business section of Sawtelle, October 6, 1928. Recently-paved Stoner Avenue is at center and heads away from the viewer. It is lined with adobe buildings and tall trees. Several early-model automobiles are parked along the road. Santa Monica Boulevard intersects Stoner in the foreground, and several sets of streetcar tracks are visible in the middle of the large street. A line of utility poles runs parallel to Santa Monica, and several streetlights are visible as well. Legible signs include, from left to right: "Ford", "Sawtelle Motor Co.", and "Chevrolet".
