Hepting, 1938?], Vol. C, leaf 35. Corner view of an elaborately decorated 3 story building; at street level on short side is the "Capital Liquor Co." identified on the building at top of 1st floor; on long side are 10 entrances or 3/4 length windows separated by pillasters; on second floor 5 tall arched windows on short side and about 10 on long side; 3rd story has an equal number of tall round arched windows; on both floors decorative notchings and spiral elements decorate facade; balconies are in front of each window; a roof comb on top of roof on short side with balustrate that runs around the top of the building. Walter Hepting was born in Sacramento (father was from Switzerland, mother from Germany). Worked for the State Treasurer's Office. Was amateur historian, collected old photographs and images of Sacramento. "Old 'Sacramento Bank' building, erected in the year 1869." "Old Sacramento Bank building, 'Old Capital City Wheelman Club', located on the 3rd floor from 1907 until about 1930."
