The community positions Aaron Borovoy has held throughout the years and the honors he's received are plentiful:President, Temple of Emmanuel in Del Cerro neighborhood of San Diego- The first openly gay President of mainstream synagogue in San Diego; Board of Directors, Imperial Court de San Diego; Secretary, AIDS Memorial Task Force; Member, Grocery Hearts Organizing Committee. Special Commendation, San Diego Mayor Maureen O'Connor; Special Commendation, San diego City Councilmember John Hartley; Crystal Heart Award Award by Update newsmagazine; Mosaic Wolf Emperor of the Imperial Court de San Diego. Aaron Borovoy even has a day named after him- Councilmember Toni Atkins proclaimed May 13 ""Aaron Borovoy"" Day in the Third District. California Preservation Service (CAPS)
