Description
Image of an aerial "perspective view of New Orleans [Louisiana], and environs from the south" along Lake Pontchartrain at center surrounded by five smaller images of buildings to be used for various exhibit halls during the World's Industrial and Cotton Centennial Exposition, including the main building, hall for United States and state exhibits, art gallery, horticultural hall, and buildings for factory and mills exhibits; a ground plan at bottom center shows a scale diagram of the exhibition grounds with a key for the various buildings; text describes the exhibits, structures, transportation, and accommodation planned for the event at the lower left and right, globe with New Orleans captioned at top center.
"The Southern Lith. Co. 38 Natchez St. N.O."--text, bottom left margin of central image. "National and International. / An exposition of the world's / commerce, industry, mechanics, education, agriculture, horticulture, live stock, pisciculture, science and art"--text, top center. "The grounds embrace the space of 247 acres, bounded on the north side by St. Charles Avenue, on / the south by the Mississippi. The buildings front east towards the main portion of the city. / An electric railway circles the grounds."--text, bottom center margin (caption for ground plan). "Special information upon any subject pertaining to the Exposition / will be promptly furnished by addressing E.A. Burke, Director / General, New Orleans."--text, bottom right margin.
