Description
Extremely unusual large vacuum tube, with clamp on the outside of the base. The number 9526 is stamped on the glass at the top. Other markings have worn off, and there are no numbers on the interior. This is a 279A, designed ca.1931 by Bell Labs for production by Western Electric, intended for broadcast, shore-to-ship, ground-to-air, and police base-station transmitters.
