Photograph caption dated August 17, 1955 reads "Boy Scouts and Explorers at Whitsett Camp in the High Sierras have unofficially voted the lake waterfront their favorite recreation area this summer. Some 1,700 campers have used the facilities this season, all of them Valley youngsters."
