Photograph caption dated April 25, 1980 reads, "More than 6,000 people paraded down Sunset Boulevard in Hollywood yesterday, commemorating the 65th anniversary of the Armenian genocide at the hands of the Turks, and protesting what they consider to be the continued oppression of the Armenian minority in Turkey. The marchers - made up of some of L.A.'s nearly 150,000 Armenian-Americans - held a rally at the Hollywood Palladium where speakers demanded aid to be cut off to Turkey."
