Photograph was edited for publication purposes and is slightly warped. Beverly Garland was born on October 17, 1926 in Santa Cruz, California. She was an American film and television actress, businesswoman, and hotel owner. Her work in films was fairly minor, consisting of small parts in a few major productions and leads in low-budget movies. She was very busy and visible in television for decades, perhaps known best for portraying Fred MacMurray's wife on the television sitcom "My Three Sons." She continued to work in television until the late 1990s. She died on December 5, 2008. Photograph caption dated March 13, 1965 reads "When actress Beverly Garland first met Bing Crosby, she was jittery about becoming his TV wife on 'The Bing Crosby show,' but not now as one can see from this scene from the show. She advises actresses not to marry an actor, but a fan like she did, in this case builder Fillmore Crank." Garland is pictured leaning on a railing above Crosby, pointing a finger at him.
