"Machila- Mrs Andrew Reid [nee Margaret Bell]". A lady being carried in a litter, known as a Machila, across a river by native porters. Rev. Andrew Reid was ordained to Nyasaland and the Mehecani station, in Portuguese East Africa, in 1922. He retired in 1927 for health reasons, although there were claims of misconduct and bullying.
