Description
An issue titled as: A lexicon of center terms. The document provides a list of words regularly used by the Issei, Kibei and Nisei at the Tule Lake camp. The terms have elements of both Japanese and English.
The collection contains material used by Carey McWilliams in writing the book, Prejudice: Japanese Americans, symbol of racial intolerance (Little, Brown, 1944). It includes U.S. War Relocation Authority records, confidential reports, bibliographies, clippings and compilations of articles, legal papers, correspondence between McWilliams and Japanese American evacuees, relocation camp newspapers and other publications, two copies of his book, and five copies of the 1994 videocassette (40 min.), Something Strong Within.
