Description
The photo caption printed in the Sacramento Bee on November 27, 1966 states:"Two views of U. S. 50 in the vicinity of Pollock Pines show the improvement over the years. The photo above (subject photo) shows the highway as it appeared in the early 1930s. The route was watered in the summer to control dust. Below, the four-lane freeway which now follows the route was opened last year."
