Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph caption dated August 4, 1958 reads, "Members of hot-shot fire fighting unit from Texas Canyon and Chilao attend outdoor training program on latest methods for fighting brush fires in rugged Southern California mountain areas. Improved fire fighting techniques include use of helicopters to transport men and water bombs into inaccessable[sic] areas to contain localized hot spots and fresh blazes."
