Depicts the stylized soles of Buddha's feet (Buddhapāda). The original would have displayed all toes in equal length. The stone is supported by a lotus pedestal. In the early years following the Buddha's death, only aniconic images were made to represent him. This is one of many found placed around the Stūpa. This tradition goes back to Sanchi and Bharhut in India and later spread to other Buddhist countries (statues of the Buddha followed later).
