Photograph caption dated November 24, 1950 reads "Mary Ellen Nichols of North Hollywood, second from right, is new honorary colonel of U.C.L.A.'s Scabbard and Blade Chapter, a national military honorary organization. She is daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. E. Nichols, 11242 Kling St. With her are honorary lieutenants selected at same time. They are, left to right, Pat Pritchard, Nancy Webster and Ilona Brady."
