Photograph caption dated April 15, 1957 reads, "Twenty-five General Electric appliance dealers were feted recently at 'steak or stew' dinner sponsored by S. B. Maher, manager of General Electric Appliances Company of Southern California. Representing Maher for the occasion was Byron Brown, General Electric sales rep representative for the San Fernando Valley. 'Steak or stew' dinner culminated a sales contest in which winning dealers were served steak and losing dealers were served stew."
