Photograph caption dated June 6, 1962 reads, "Part of the nearly 1,000 youngsters at St. Jane Francis School in North Hollywood rehearse their routines for a mass calisthenics drill Thursday at 2:30 p.m. at the school, 13001 Victiry [sic] Blvd. Mrs. John Michaels, one of the physical education instructors in charge of the program, reports the school received a letter from President Kennedy in which he said he was 'gratified by the emphasis on physical education.' Parents and friends have been issued invitations to the drill by the pupils, who range from 6 to 14 years."
