Description
Title supplied by cataloger.
Ezequiel Padilla, Mexico's Secretary for Foreign Relations and former Washington ambassador, visited Los Angeles in May, 1945. During his visit, he was honored at a special Cinco de Mayo ceremony held at Los Angeles City Hall. Some other prominent guests at the event included: Mayor Fletcher Bowron, Mexican Consul General Col. Vicente Peralta, and Bishop Joseph T. McGucken.
From the Spring Street steps of the Los Angeles City Hall, an unidentified man addresses about forty thousand attendees at a special Cinco de Mayo celebration. Behind him is Counsel General Col. Vicente Peralta and other Mexican officials, who are seated with some clergy from the Catholic Church.
