Photograph of a lithograph depicting Temple Block (Newmark Block) as seen from the Main Street side, ca.1880. The County Bank building stands on the corner to the right with arched windows and elaborate column decorations, three stories high. To its left, the three-story S. Hellman Photographic Gallery also follows along the street with the two-story Wells Fargo and Co. Express building (of similar architecture) still farther to the left. Pedestrians, people on horseback, a horse-drawn carriage and a horse-drawn streetcar are all visible navigating the road. Other legible signs include: "Hats and Caps", "[...] and Neck Wear", "Palace" and "Express Service". Text below the image reads "These Buildings Came to be Known as Temple Block.
