Photograph was edited for publication purposes This Chevrolet assembly plant opened in 1947 and produced the Chevrolet Corvair, Chevrolet Nova, Chevrolet Camaro, Chevrolet full-size models and the Pontiac Firebird. The plant was closed in 1992 after the production of Camaro and Firebird vehicles was moved to Sainte-The´re`se Assembly in Quebec. In 1998, the facility was razed and replaced with a large retail and industrial complex, known as The Plant. GM continues to operate a car-testing facility nearby. Photograph caption dated March 4, 1950 reads, "Finished car emerges from plant under its own power, last 100 yards have been largely an ordeal of inspection."; See images #00124050 through #00124056 for all photos in this series.
