Photograph caption dated September 18, 1961 reads "Don Drysdale, who was starter for the Dodgers, greets the Sherman Oaks Babe Ruth squad, state champion club, at the Coliseum where yesterday thousands of San Fernando residents celebrated "Valley Day With the Dodgers," sponsored by the Valley Times TODAY and the ball club. Drysdale was a "natural" to greet the Valleyites as he hails from Van Nuys and like the Babe Ruth champions he is greeting started his baseball career in boys baseball."
