Photograph caption dated April 18, 1960 reads, "Ready for Action. West Valley Police Sgt. Robert Sansing sits poised for instantaneous start after speeders on Ventura Freeway. Division's new chase car has such special features as waist and shoulder safety belts, heavy steel roll bars and speedometer, upper right, calibrated to record maximum speed attained during pursuit."
