Description
"Rutenganyo. Br. + Schw. Waldner aus Rungwe." ("Rutenganyo. Brother and Sister Waldner from Rungwe."). Brother Waldner (left) and Sister Waldner are sitting on chairs in front of a house built of bricks. She is looking directly into the camera.
It is unclear if these persons are Ernst Waldner (1898-?) and his wife Julie Friederike or Alfred Waldner (1908-1944) and his wife Wilhelmine. -- "Rutenganyo" is today's "Rutenganio". -- August Seibt (1875-1943) was a teacher and a missionary of the Herrnhuter Brüdergemeine. He served in Unyamwezi (1904-1916) and Usoke (1930-1937). In 1905 he married Frieda Scholz. They returned to Germany in 1937.
