Photograph article dated February 20, 1964 reads, "The sleepy resort town of Elsinore is waking up from its 13-year slumber to the happy sound of rushing water. At long and at last, surplus Metropolitan Water District water is flowing into Lake Elsinore, which dried up in 1951 and turned the community into a depressed area. And the long-awaited event is being met with cheers and rejoicing from the 2,500 Elsinore residents as well as thousands of Southern Californians."
