Photograph of a view of the S.S. President Hoover moored at Berth 155 in San Pedro Harbor, July 19, 1937. The large steamship is at left. It has a dark hull with a light superstructure. Several long booms extend over the deck of the ship, and many port holes are visible along the hull. A two-story cement building is visible at right, and an overhead gangplank goes from the ship to the mezzanine corridor of the transit shed. Several automobiles can be seen in the foreground, while piles of cargo sit next to the ship on the wharf.
