Photograph article dated January 9, 1962 partially reads, "Mayor Samuel W. Yorty Monday night urged various city elements to pull together and fight an attitude in Sacramento that, he said, is making Los Angeles the 'stepchild' of the state. Speaking at a West Valley Associated Chambers of Commerce installation banquet, the mayor said the city's interests are being ignored by many state agencies and asked the association's help in correcting the situation." Pictured are, from left, Mayor Yorty, Donald Lorenz, J. Gerald Lefevre and Councilman Thomas D. Shepard.
