Photograph caption dated January 19, 1955 reads, "Equipped with a tin-can gadget to control sheep, Thomas Dennis and sheep dog stand guard over large flock along Ridge Route near Castaic Junction as rain falls. Irish-born Dennis, laughed at storm, called it old stuff. Dog doesn't seem to mind weather either."
