Photograph article dated August 10, 1964 reads, "The success of Brian Avery, who has the young leading man role in 'Damn Yankees,' is a case of a hometown boy making good in his hometown. Born, raised and schooled in the Valley, Avery received critical and public acclaim for his role as super-baseball player Joe Hardy in the musical which opened last week at the Valley Music Theater, just a few miles from his home." Photograph caption reads, "New talent - Valley actor Brian Avery is shown in dancing scene with star Juliet Prowse in Valley Music Theater musical 'Damn Yankees.'
