Description
"Shooting of Rainandriamampandry. JTH" [Initials of LMS missionary, J T Hardyman] Firing squad and French soldiers gathered to shoot the Minister of the Interior, Rainandriamampandry and Prince Ratsimamanga, the Queen's Uncle, for complicity with the rebellion of 1895. Their execution was ordered by General Gallieni. A priest kneels in prayer.
One of around 360 prints from various sources mounted and indexed in folders. Probably used for reference and publication by London Missionary Society headquarters.
