Photograph caption dated June 16, 1961 reads "Mike Hofmann, left, and Ross Abbott, both 15 and both members of Burbank Sea Scout Ship 9, confer with Burbank City Councilman John B. (Jack) Whitney about a drive by Burbank Scouts to place flags in front of every home and business in the city. Michael Cunningham, 4105 W. Magnolia Blvd., Burbank, district chairman of the Scouts, heads the drive, which runs until July 4." Printed on the boys' shirts are the words "Sea Explorers B.S.A."
