Description
Bust-length portrait. "O T T N A T" -- handwritten in lower right corner.
1990-1740.
Born in Cayuga County, New York, in 1817. Arrived in California in 1849 via Panama (sailed on Ocean Queen to Panama, bark Eliza Ann to San Francisco). Spent time in gold mines before settling in Sacramento in 1852. Eventually ran mercantile business of W. R. Strong & Co. Died in 1905.
