Description
Ralph Hamlin's six-cylinder Franklin Model H nicknamed "Greyhound" kicks up dust in a race. Fencing keeps spectators off the race track. Original photo caption in Los Angeles Times reads: "Ralph Hamlin and his greyhound. The fast Franklin roadster was entered in the Los Angeles-Phoenix road race at the eleventh hour yesterday, and is a likely winner". Photo was printed July 13, 1955 in the Herald and the reprint photo caption reads: "This is Franklin Model H car in which Hamlin finished second in 24-hour race, Oct. 31-Nov. 1, 1908. One of his great victories on the road was Phoenix Desert Road Race of 1912, which he won. Photo dated: Nov. 7, 1908.
