(TG). - Contradictory data: (D-30-0,2) gives Rudolf Fisch as photographer. - Published as photo no 42 in 'Achtzig Ansichten von der Goldküste (Westafrika) nach Originalaufnahmen des Missionars Fritz Ramseyer', Neuchâtel 1895. In the centre are the stool-carriers.One of the stools has as accessory a bell manufactured there in the country. On the left we see a long pipe, whose tube is decorated with silver rings. Left and right we see the 'souls' of the chief whose task it is to watch over the security of their master. They wear gold plates on their chests. Then there are the sword-carriers - the sword handles are covered with gold leaf. Behind them stands the chief's bodyguard with harness and guns. On the right you can see the drums - a special sort of drum is made from a calabash with a leopard skin, which is beaten with the flat hand." - The French version of the Album entitles the picture "Intendants du chef Abankwa" and goes on "Cette vue présente les intendants du chef, chacun en sa différente charge ... " (PJ 07.1998).
