Photograph was edited for publication purposes Photograph article dated December 20, 1963 partially reads, "Disneyland will open its ninth annual Christmas Festival Sunday with a giant 'Christmas In Many Lands' parade plus Walt Disney's famous 'Parade of the Toys' and a candlelight procession of 1,000 carolers. Tomorrow's parades, beginning at 2 p.m., will include some 3,000 participants - bands, marching units, dancers, singers and musicians presenting the Christmas traditions of 28 nations. The performing toys will be led by 16 giant wooden soldiers followed by clowns, dolls, knights, trains and many floats. Santa Claus will arrive behind eight comical Disney reindeer with a load of giant size toys. This year's parade also will include many live animals, elephants from India, camels from Arabia, a brown bear from the Himalayas, ostriches from Australia and a cheetah from South America."
