Black and White photograph: Angel Island Chinese immigrant detention center, dormitory room interior. San Francisco Bay, San Francisco, California, June 24,2003. From 1910 until 1945, Angel Island served as a detention center to facilitate the exclusion of the immigration of Chinese people under the 1882 Chinese Exclusion Act. The Bottom row of this bunk bed displays a blanket, a pillow, and a Mahjong set.
