The Anglican Cathedral in Calcutta, St. Paul's Cathedral has an extensive diaconal service among the slum people of Calcutta: the Cathedral Relief Service (CRS) includes education, health and social support, focusing on the self-help principle. The DSM Missionary Hazel Platts has served as manager of this work for several years from the 1970s. Here one of the cars from CRS goes to the slum areas with supplies.
