Photograph caption dated February 22, 1988 reads, "Peace possible, according to pole -- Audubon Society supporters applaud this weekend's unveiling of a Peace Pole at Plummer Park in West Hollywood. Peace Poles are the inspiration of the Society of Prayer for World Peace, a non-profit, non-denominational organization headquartered in Ichikawa City, Chiba Prefecture, Japan. The society's slogan on the poles, available in 20 languages, is 'May Peace Prevail on Earth.' "
