Description
Connie and Caitlin begin the interview discussing the differences between embalming and cremation, and how cremation does not require formal education. They proceed to talk about cremators’ experiences when performing their duties and the bureaucracy involved in having a body cremated before moving on to consider the cremation process and the differing cultural perceptions relating to how remains are treated. Connie and Caitlin then talk about the idea of Caitlin cremating her own mother before reflecting on the reception of Caitlin’s book among her coworkers. Connie has Caitlin read a passage from her book about death, and they move on to discuss Caitlin’s approach to writing the book and her next career project. Connie closes the interview requesting an autograph for her copy of the book.
