Description
Photograph caption dated November 25, 1942 reads, "Virginia Morales tells of receiving a gun and giving it to somebody else." Morales, along with Pvt. Joe V. Olivas, Marine, Genaro Juarez, Arthur Mendoza, Edward Hernandez, and John Montez were arrested in an alleged gang shooting that took place at the home of Joe Gonzalez, 1441 Playground Street where a wedding shower was being held. Gonzales claimed that after he ordered Hernandez and Mendoza to leave, they returned with the other suspects. A melee ensued which lead to the shooting death of Felix Miramonte, 15, and the injuries of Marco Cano, 17, and Edmond A. Mendoza, 17.
