Photograph was edited for publication purposes. Photograph caption dated February 24, 1956 reads, "Big things are expected this year from Barry Harkins, John Burroughs High's fine Class B track star. The young Indian started off the 1956 season with a bang Tuesday afternoon by winning the 100 and the broad jump and here he is shown ripping off his first place jump against the Loyola Cubs. Barry is also a crack sprinter. His 10.5 century against Loyola was two tenths of a second faster than the varsity winner." Burroughs High School is in Burbank.
