Description
This report was created by Harold Wise and the Redevelopment Agency of Sacramento in 1953 to study the present and future needs for land for commercial development in Sacramento's West End. The analysis found that Sacramento's Metropolitan Area was growing faster than the rest of California and that Sacramento's Central Business District needed improvements and more land so that it could continue to grow and be an attractive place for businesses and customers. The report covers the present and future characteristics of Sacramento's economy, the significance of population and economic growth, and businesses suitable for the Central District. The report also includes tables on population, employment, land use, commercial sales and expenditures, and types of businesses.
