Description: The old Bayside Canning building in Alviso; at one time the second largest cannery in the United States. It was owned by Chinese and managed by Thomas Foon Chew. Its main product was asparagus from the delta. When Tom Foon died, a funeral was held in San Francisco and thousands of people marched in his parade.
