This photograph is contained in one of two volumes by Dobbin titled "Album of San Francisco."
Text written under photo: "Main Drive Golden Gate Park from Chicken Point 1889. In left foreground is the carriage entrance to first Music Concourse now known as Conservatory Valley." View is looking west on Main Drive. The Conservatory is out of the picture to the right. Numerous carriages are seen along with people promenading, indicating that this photo was probably taken on a weekend.
