Shown on the southwest corner of Sixteenth and H streets, in circa 1975, is the Governor's Mansion, home to California's top politician from 1903, for George Pardee, to 1982, for Ronald Reagan. The Second Empire Italianate structure was originally built in 1877 for local hardware merchant Albert Gallatin.
