William I. Harlow was son of Missouri Methodist preacher, William I. Harlow, and brother of author, Frederic Pease Harlow. William was agent for Wells Fargo in Portland.
In 1896, William, his brother Frederic, Charles W. Thornton and Leslie Raymond (from Tacoma) took trip to Yellowstone National Park. Taking the train on Aug. 12th to Cinnabar, the four men bicycled through the park, sightseeing, staying at various hotels and camps in park. Returned home Aug. 23rd.
