Title supplied by cataloger. This prison opened August 1933 and closed in 1952; it is now the California Correctional Institution. Photograph caption dated September 24, 1938 reads, "Presented on this page are the first photos ever taken of a prisoners' celebration at the Tehachapi state women's prison. They show the prison's second annual 'state fair,' at which products grown and made at the institution were shown. Above prisoners dressed in overalls, gingham dresses and other farm attire are pictured watching a vaudeville show."
