Image of George Washington crossing the Delaware River prior to the Battle of Trenton, New Jersey, in December 1776 during the American Revolutionary War; Washington sits on horseback on the icy riverbank with other military officers; several boats full of soldiers crossing the river; cannon visible on path at left.
Date supplied by cataloger based on printer history; New York City directories list J. Baillie at 118 Nassau in 1845. "Litho. & Pubd. by J. Baillie 118 Nassau St. N.Y."--text, bottom left margin. "On the Evening previous to the Battle of Trenton Dec 25th 1776."--text, bottom center margin.
