Oral argument by attorneys before the California Supreme Court on November 2, 1993 in a suit concerning damages to be awarded to residents living near a landfill where dumping of toxic substances had occurred. Courts in federal and other state jurisdictions have followed the court's rulings in this case 114 times during the period 1993-2013.
