Description
Leon (a.k.a. Jack) Palmer, a taxi driver from San Pedro, was found dead in the front seat of his car by F. P. Robinson in the hills above San Pedro. A bullet hole in the back of his head showed that he had been shot from behind. A $500 diamond ring, his wallet and watch were missing from his person when he was discovered. Police suspect that he was killed by rum-runners who sought revenge for his hijacking operations in the Northwest. Photo dated: September 1, 1928.
