One of the four vāhalkadas. The lowest, decorated extant frieze has sculptured heads of elephants alternating with medallions. In front of it is a round altar which would have had a lotus motif and at the center the pedestal with sculpted elephant heads. An imposing tri-partite brick superstructure, now missing, would have been built above this structure at the ground level.
