In: Scenes of Santa Clara Valley
In the right is a garden with a tree in the center and surrounded by two circular plant beds; path through garden; additional gardens, evergreen tree and a palm; in background is large 3-storey house; the floor level is surrounded by a porch with an arcade of arches; the second storey has a balcony above the porch; two chimneys grace the roof and around to the right side is a round-shaped turret; awnings shade the right side of the building.
"Residence of William Wehner, Esq., 10 miles from San Jose, commanding a beautiful view of the entire Santa Clara Valley and San Francisco Bay." 'Adjoining Yerba Buena Ranch (handwritten comment)' Wehner arrived from Germany in 1880's, owned vineyard.
